Chris Goss Photography Website

Welcome to my homepage.

As you can tell if you have been here before, the site has been re-constructed :)

As before, most of the pictures in the regular galleries are "compressed"  so that they take up roughly 1/10 of their original 'size' in order to fit more on the website & also to help people who do not have Windows XP or Vista.  Now when you click on an image it should be a full screen image for an 800x600 display setting with all or almost all of the picture visible without needing to use scroll bars.  The exception is the 'Calendar' section.  In addition to being a 'best of' sort of gallery they are the full higher resolution images.  They are a larger size than the regular ones (so be warned if you have a slow connection, a lower screen resolution, and/or an older operating system).  The 'Across the USA' and 'Aerial' galleries are also high resolution and set up in a montage format (hover the mouse to read the caption and click to enlarge as normal). I wanted to try a different design, but I am not sure I like it.  Comments or votes one way or the other?

The picture quality of the regular pix should not be affected unless you wanted to print any of them (or zoom/expand them).  If you see one you want, let me know and I will get it to you in full size format.  Almost all of the pictures are "natural" in the sense that this is how the digital camera took them, but on some I used the "Corel Photo-Paint Intellihance Pro" to bring out the colors (most noticeably on the pictures taken from the planes on the Vegas page or the Aerial page).

The calendar galleries are those pictures I (and Staples) have made into calendars for the last couple years.  In theory they represent the best of that year and sometimes are edited with captions and sayings.  I tried to match sayings and pictures wherever I could; sometimes the connection is obvious and sometimes subtle.  Sometimes there is no connection at all and it is just a saying I like with a picture I like :)  Ask if your curious on what it means...

I have also split the site into multiple pages to so you do not have to download as much each time and this homepage loads faster. I know it is a rather simple and 'no frills' kind of website, but I need to maximize the space available for pictures, which are the real reason for the site itself.  Please enjoy:)

Any questions or comments are welcomed and very appreciated at chrisgoss@comcast.net

To navigate back to any gallery from the expanded picture, just push the 'back' button on your browser (in Internet Explorer it is a blue left arrow near the top left of the screen).

I look forward to hearing from you.
